ISSUES
The TCCRI Healthcare Project addresses a range of issues that encourage greater accountability and transparency in both the delivery of healthcare services and healthcare coverage offerings, including:
-
Easing licensure requirements to allow out-of-state providers in good standing to practice in Texas and to utilize non-physician providers to help meet the state’s growing needs.
-
Expanding the use of telehealth and other technology to allow for the delivery of services to underserved areas of the state.
-
Rebuffing new or expanded mandates that increase consumer healthcare costs and premiums.
-
Combatting attempts at the federal level to over-regulate the Texas insurance market, expand the Medicaid program, or impose price controls.
-
Promoting healthcare price and quality transparency to foster free market competition.
